This season, we joyfully celebrate the birth of Jesus. The Lord has said to me, “This is the believing season.” It began long ago, when the angel Gabriel visited Mary and told her she would have a son who would reign over the house of Jacob forever – and of His kingdom, there would be no end. She didn’t know how this was possible, not having a husband, but she accepted the angel’s word and became the first person to believe in Jesus, the Messiah, her son.
As we read the Christmas story, we are struck by how quick she was to believe that “with God, all things are possible.” Scripture instructs us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The Christmas season is also a giving season. Let us give our faith to others. Show them by your living example that Jesus has brought faith into your heart.
And then there was Joseph, another one the angel visited, telling him to take Mary as his wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. The Christmas story is the beginning of Christian faith. May you choose this year to more quickly believe His living Word. Love the word He gives you personally, and choose to live it and fulfill it.
Jesus’ birth into this world made it possible for him to be birthed into our hearts. In us, His faith is as alive as it was in Him in this world. God gave us the birth of Jesus as an eternal gift offered to all men. It is His gift of love, light, and full salvation for our spirit, our soul, and our body.
Jesus, our great Christmas gift, makes all that we need available and possible every day of the year, even unto the ages to come. If you believe, you know that God has solutions to your personal problems as well as world problems that man cannot even begin to think of. All we have to do and say is, “Be it done unto me even as you have said, Lord.”
Begin a new year with a new season of believing in your life. Make life easy. Only believe.
