We are purged for the prize of the high calling in Jesus Christ by the fire of the Holy Spirit. Take another look at the cross of Jesus and say with Paul, “I forget those things that are behind and I reach forward…” with today’s message.
True baptism in the Holy Spirit provides us with necessary fire that burns up all dross and ignites us where we were once “fire-resistant.” With a weak baptism, we hold onto second best things, while the Holy Spirit’s baptism makes us discard the imperfect and prefer God’s perfect best.
We see in the lives of Christians that there are varied degrees of intensity and experiences of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In those with hardly any fire for God burning in them, their lives hardly changed. We need today the baptism of fire that places us on the altar of sacrifice, making us holy and acceptable unto God, furnished with the required anointing that will operate in the supernatural for a day as shaky as today.
