It is a day to have the Holy Spirit in full charge of our lives. The world and many of its people are out of control, and we cannot control it or them. But we can control ourselves and bring our souls under the direction of the Holy Spirit so He can control our lives, and we can be led of Him more perfectly.
The Lord said to concentrate on prayers in the Bible for the believer, especially in the Book of Ephesians. Put them into your own words, and pray them for yourself and for specific members of the Body of Christ by name. Notice how often the words “God of glory” and “glory of God” are mentioned. The prayers tell us God has pre-ordained a life and a purpose for each of us.
We ask the Lord to open our eyes, enhancing and expanding our understanding and knowledge of His purposes for our lives. For everyone who doesn’t know, or for whom it’s vague and indistinct, I pray that it become crystal clear in their heart and mind and fulfilled under the Lord’s direction.
We are to pray to the Father of glory:
- That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
- The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
- And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
- Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
- Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
- And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
- Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Bring us to the place, Lord, where this can be the true spiritual reality for all of us, in Jesus’ Name.
You have prepared an ark of glory for all of us to enter to ride through the rough days and rough times to come. The provision is in glory, and we can enter it by the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, who has brought us into this eternal place. Thank you for the revelation and the love of obeying you, for the privilege of knowing your will and obeying it. Thank you for the revelation of the knowledge of your will in our lives and in all things in Jesus’ Name so we can bring honor and glory to you.
I pray for any who are easily beset by sin, any tendency or inclination that can weigh them down and hinder them from fulfilling their divine purpose. I pray for the grace of Almighty God, for mercy and strength to break loose from those sins and tendencies that keep them from fulfilling the call of God upon their lives. Thank you for ministering to them right now, helping them to choose to loose themselves from those things and run fully, in faith and patience, the race you have ordained for them, and to finish it to the glory of God.
Help us to know you more than we know you now. We ask that we might know you on such a personal level, beyond how we know any human being. We pray for those of us who only know about you and what the Word says about you, that they and all might know you on such a deep and glorious and personal level and that we might know the power of your resurrection, knowing that you are the resurrection and the life and that you live in us and made it possible for us to be resurrected with you.
Thank you that we as a company may further experience the rising up into you so that we can hear you say, “Come up hither” from a place where we might be able to see, know understand, comprehend the things that you want to share with us that are important for today.
I pray that each of us have a revelation that our path in Jesus Christ was predestined and preordered in Him from the foundation of the world, that we might recognize how significant this is in our life and in eternity, and that we might understand that you put into each of us unique things for the purpose of fulfilling your ordained plan. I pray we no longer continue on a clouded path or where we cannot see what our next move is to be. I pray we receive the revelation and the understanding of how to fulfil this to your praise and glory.
We want to thank you tonight for all the spiritual blessings you have given us: authority on this earth, authority in your name, and may we not lose sight of the fact that you have given us this authority and the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, to speak out in this world. You have given us a shield of faith to protect us from all the fiery darts of the wicked one. You’ve given us all the spiritual equipment we need to fully function as members of your body on earth today. May we use these glorious graces that you have granted to us so that we are able to fulfil our purpose, not sitting back but putting into use the things you have given. May we speak the Word, rebuke the enemies, and stand fast, knowing our faith will prevail for us. May we not grow sleepy in prayer, like the disciples when sleep and stupor took them over. May we receive the spirit of prayer from the Holy Spirit, for it’s through this prayer that we do come to know you, your Word, and your purpose more perfectly. Thank you for answering these things as our hearts cry for you, hungering and thirsting for your righteousness, as your revelations burst upon our spirits and souls.
We thank you tonight that we choose to so surrender our lives to you – every move, every thought, every word – and that our surrendered life is held in your protection. I thank you, Lord, for this for all who seek your glory, not our own. Thank you that the Holy Spirit leads and guides us, sends our thoughts, our eyes and our ears in the direction they need to go so we can be led into the perfect place of provision.
I thank you, Lord, for all the many times that you have led and directed us and for the glory of your saving grace: not only from our sins, but from so many things in this life. Thank you for the many times you have saved us, whether we were aware of it or not. Thank you for keeping us and sparing us so we can continue to fulfil your purpose and bring you glory. Thank you for your Spirit in our lives, the many ways you equip us, that you have not left us without a Comforter or Guide, without wisdom or strength.
You have provided everything we could ever need, and we thank you for it. Thank you that you hear us, a God who listens to our hearts and our words. You listen, and you have chosen to adopt us and bring us into your family, and we thank you for this great provision for all of us, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
